Corpus Christi Hair Salon Model Exposé – August 2010

Dragonfly Hair Salon Corpus Christi TXAugust.  The peak of summer and the hottest time of the year, in Corpus Christi.  And the most popular time of the year for blondes to come out and show that most desirable of shades.  All around, women are sporting that perfect blonde.  But what is the perfect shade of blonde?

It is many things to many people.  Some like the warmer blondes while others prefer the platinum ultra blondes.  Surprisingly some even prefer the less than perfect orange and brassy blonde that Corpus Christi seems famous for.  Regardless of what you think the perfect blonde is, that shade is possible for you with a visit to the salon no matter what hair type you have or what your base color is.

One of our favorite blondes is the butter cream blonde.  This is a dimensional blonde that combines the attention grabbing ultra blonde shades with a soft butter cream blonde to give depth and dimension.  Multiple shades are a must for blondes.  Without the contrasting tones, the color will seem flat and lack movement.

While this is our favorite blonde shade, understand that it is a mean feat to achieve this result from any base color.  It requires three key elements.  Specialized knowledge, a high technical skill and quality hair coloring products that provide consistent results that can be anticipated on any hair type or color.

At Dragonfly Hair Salon this is a single process color service as it should be.  Combining blonde shades in a single process requires our master colorist to lay out a plan for your finished result before any color is even mixed.  The application requires a very structured and meticulous technique that will keep the colors where they belong, avoiding unwanted splotching and bleeding that will ruin a perfect blonde.  We use only premium hair coloring products made by Schwarzkopf and Goldwell without exception.  You will never find us trying to save a buck at the expense of your perfect blonde.

This month’s model:  Tristan

Tristan begins with naturally wavy hair that is medium texture.  Her base color was medium brown.

Her service was dimensional butter cream blonding – ultra blonde with butter cream highlights1.  This dimensional blonde was achieved using Goldwell Oxycur Platin and Topchic Highlift Blonde color in a single process.

Her cut is a shoulder length style with long layers.

1 - Lowlights is often a misnomer for hair that is of a darker tone or shade than surrounding hair.  However, this is not the proper use of the word.  Highlights lift color from the hair cuticle and lowlights deposit color to the hair cuticle.  In this instance, blonding a medium brown to butter cream blonde would be highlights.
