July 2010 Hair Model Exposé

Dragonfly by Ginger Exclusive Salon Corpus Christi TXTo combat the dreaded grey hairs that come with experience, most women opt for all over color.  While this does a fantastic job at grey coverage, it often does not take advantage of the full range of color options available.  To many  the single color is the only option they are aware of, but this is certainly not the case.  Needing grey coverage does not mean that you must forsake the fabulous look of a carefully designed dimensional color with depth and texture.

With that said, summer is the perfect time for dimensional highlights.  With consistent exposure to the sun, hair will naturally acquire that “sun kissed” look.  Gentle transitions between soft shades of blonde give sun kissed hair that youthful and healthy appearance with depth and texture.  Sadly, not everyone is able to spend all day at the beach.  But that does not mean that everyone cannot have that beautiful and healthy look.  Dragonfly Hair Salon can replicate that look in the salon with a custom color formula that is tailored specifically to each client.  Our customized dimensional color and highlights give a subtle transition between multiple tones and provides grey coverage for that naturally beautiful look.  The only noticeable difference between our color and highlight service and sun kissed hair is the consistency of the results we provide.

This month’s hair model, Toby, exhibits these flawless results.  Her choice of services is color with dimensional highlights (always a single process at Dragonfly Hair Salon).  The warm blonde tones contrast against the cool blonde tones to give depth and dimension to Toby’s style.  Her naturally wavy hair is complemented with long layers that give her hair style natural body, bounce and movement.

Youthful and beautiful style is not unrealistic for any woman and grey coverage should be seen as an opportunity to step out there and take a hair style adventure.

Tell us about the first time you decided to visit Dragonfly Hair Salon.

A fortuitous mistake – or a stroke of luck as it has always seemed to me.  I was new to the Corpus area and scared to death to start over with someone I didn’t know, I was planning on traveling back to Austin every 6 to 8 weeks to continue with the woman who had done my hair for the last 18 years.  When directory assistance gave me Dragonfly Hair Salon instead of another business I was trying to call I spent a few minutes talking to Ginger.  She seemed so friendly and helpful that  I made a leap of faith (one that I have never regretted) and made an appointment.

How would you describe your experience during your visits to Dragonfly Hair Salon?

From Day One, I found a comfortable and professional experience with reliable results I could trust.

What is your favorite thing about Dragonfly Hair Salon?

You mean, besides the fabulous color and snazzy new coastal cut?  Probably getting to know Ginger and relying on the relaxed and stress-free environment.

Do you have any advice for others thinking about giving Dragonfly Hair Salon a try?

Only, what are you waiting for?

How did your photo shoot for July’s Model go?

For a woman who spent her professional career dreading cameras, it was remarkably laid-back and fun.

Tell us why your appearance is important to you.

I am retired after a 32 year career in local government, the last seven years as the City Manager of Austin, Texas.  It’s the kind of position where your picture can be in the paper every week – often in conjunction to some problem that is being discussed or analyzed.  Like many women in the public eye, I was always amazed by the attention paid to what I wore or how my hair looked or whether I seemed tired or angry in the media shot.  Sometimes it felt like citizens made their assessment of you entirely by the way your image appeared in newsprint.  So, bottom line – that experience taught me that appearance matters especially in the context of first impressions.

Is there anything that you would like to add to this expose?

Yes, this is one of the few times I didn’t actually feel exposed or betrayed by the camera. J
